About Us


 

Paula Perry- Szyndler     Paula has an Associate of Arts degree and a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in dance. Paula has been teaching for twenty-five years.  She enjoys teaching master classes, choreographing and judging for many studios and competitions in the United States. Her choreography has been seen on many television benefit specials, faculty shows at national dance competitions, Miss Massachusetts, Miss Rhode Island, and Little Miss Pageants. Several of Paula's dance students have gone on to perform as a NFL Cheerleader, Disney dancer, Celtics dancer, Wizard of Oz, The Nutcracker, 42nd Street, danced with Gregory Hines and have been accepted into the Alvin Ailey Company. While others have received their degree in dance and now are either performing or teaching at many studios in the New England Area

Meghan Kennedy     Meghan has been teaching for fifteen years.  Meghan has received several honor awards for her dance works. Meghan’s work this past season received best choreography, United We Dance and most entertaining at the regional and nation competition level. She has won several title awards for her performance in Dance as well as in Gymnastics. In the summer of 2000 one of her dance teams performed in Canada at an International Dance Competition. This team won the highest honors with a perfect score and Meghan also won the choreography award.  She has performed with Christina Aguilera, performed at Walt Disney World, Royal Caribbean Cruise Lines, HersheyPark and is a featured dancer for the Soul City All Stars. Meghan was the recipient of the Danny/Betty Hoctor excellence in Dance award. This award is a lifetime achievement award.  Meghan was a professional cheerleader for the NFL for four years and has won several honors which include most talented professional cheerleader.

 

 

 

 Jackie Morton  Miss Jackie is our full-time office manager. Miss Jackie is a pre-school certified lead teacher. She is here to answer all of your questions and concerns. With Miss Jackie’s warming personality and knowledge, teachers are not interrupted or pulled away during class time. From the minute you walk into our studio you are warmly greeted and welcomed by Miss Jackie at the front desk. From that point on you, our faculty and students are all engulfed by her energy, it’s contagious!

Stacy Ramos  We are proud to announce that Miss Stacy is back for her second season with us.  Stacy is one of our very own former students.  After graduating High School Stacy went on to dance nationally with the UMASS Amherst Dance Team.  After her second year at UMASS Stacy transfered to RIC to where she acquired her degree.  While she attended college Stacy choreographed all over the world including in Mexico.  Stacy was one of the origanl Boston Celtic Dancers.   She has performed all over the world including China.  Stacy has performed with Christina Aguilera, performed at Walt Disney World, Royal Caribbean Cruise Lines, HersheyPark and was a featured dancer  and choreographer for the NBA.  Miss Stacy's senior Hip Hop routine this past season received best choreography and Amazing Perfection award.

Thank you for your interest in The Dancer’s Edge and welcome. As the directors of The Dancer’s Edge we take pride in continuing to offer you a high standard of dance training. Our school’s mission is to provide students of all ages a striking balance between fun and fitness.

We believe quality dance training should be taught in a “fun” environment where creativity, dedication and self-esteem develop while emphasizing strong technical skills in an enjoyable structured atmosphere. We pride ourselves in serving the individual needs of each student while building confidence, self-esteem and respect for others.

Whether you are a dancer age four or forty-four, The Dancer’s Edge dance curriculum, beginning with our 1st steps Program, is designed to develop a versatile dancer. Dance is a demanding and complex skill requiring patience and determination, from both student and teacher. While striving for proper and strong technique, emphasis is placed on creativity, self-expression and music appreciation.

The master teachers at The Dancer’s Edge have earned their position through years of study as well as academic and professional pursuits and you will find them eager to help you achieve your goals! We strive to create a positive relationship with each dance family by communicating, releasing newsletters and distributing The Dancer’s Edge updates.

Together with our experience and knowledge we have developed a curriculum of progressive learning. The Dancer's Edge is an instructional and conditioning program for adults and children beginning at the age of 2.9 years.   Our structured dance programs expose and educate our dancers to the proper techniques needed to build a strong dance foundation. 

Our program is about educating you and your child in more than dance steps. It is teaching them lifetime lessons. Our goa
l is for our students to excel and reach for their fullest potential in an atmosphere where dance is fun.


The Dancer's Edge dancers have always been recognized for their talents.  At nationwide dance competitions our dancers have consistently received high honor awards and top scholarships.  The Dancer’s Edge dancers have traveled and performed in Florida, Canada, Las Vegas, Walt Disney World, Universal Studios, Royal Caribbean Cruise Lines, Hershey Park, Virginia and New York City.
